With just 74 of their closest friends and family, Ellie and Matt created a warm and intimate atmosphere that suited the elegant surroundings of Middleton Lodge Estate perfectly. Despite several heavy rain showers throughout the day, we were rewarded with bursts of glorious September sunshine, ideal for relaxed family photographs and romantic portraits of the couple.


One of the highlights of photographing weddings at Middleton Lodge is the seasonal gardens. We captured the very last blooms of the venue’s iconic hydrangeas, framing Ellie and Matt as they strolled hand in hand around the estate. Even better, the day ended with a few magical moments of golden hour, a rare treat on a showery Yorkshire wedding day.

The evening celebrations were just as memorable. Guests enjoyed a selection of cakes from Bettys of Harrogate, followed by a cocktail hour inside the Main House. Ellie later changed into a second, fashion-forward dress, perfect for comfortable dancing, before making a sparkler entrance into the marquee.


From the first dance to the final song, the dance floor was full of energy, laughter, and some seriously impressive moves. It was a joy to capture such a love-filled celebration at one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful wedding venues.
