A York city elopement in the Spring

12 January 2023

York in the Spring time is a favourite of mine- in fact York city centre in any season is beautiful and I was over the moon to capture Charlotte and Dave's elopement with their closest family and friends there last Spring.

From the get go I knew how important beautiful photographs were to Charlotte and Dave so we factored this in to planning the timings around their bespoke photography package and spent plenty of time wandering around York taking in all the sights and capturing epic portraits as we went.

I must say we turned a few heads as Dave is a part of the Royal Engineers and married in full military uniform including a sword! Equally though Charlotte wore the most stunning dress and a full cathedral length veil which really made an impact!

From bridal prep at The Principal Hotel York to their drinks and meal at The Star Inn the City every part of their day was filled with love and touching moments, Charlotte's dad surprised her with a classic car to take her to York registry office and we enjoyed capturing some photos with it close to the York Minster. Wandering through York Museum Gardens for more wedding portraits with all the Spring flowers starting to bloom was a joy!

They have now welcomed a beautiful baby in to the world and I'm sure they are super busy, I wish them all the love and happiness in the world!
